Adjustable covers are designed to be used on the book you are currently reading. They have a fixed height and an adjustable width, allowing them to accommodate books of the same height across a wide range of page counts. As you finish one book and begin another, the cover can be adjusted and reused again and again. This option is ideal for readers who want flexibility, protection, and a beautiful feel while reading.
Fitted covers are made for a specific book size and page count. They are tailored to fit one book precisely and are not intended to be adjusted or reused for other books. This option is best for Bible covers, keepsakes, heirloom volumes, or books you plan to keep permanently covered.
If you read many books of similar height and want one cover to move with you from book to book, an adjustable cover is the right choice. If you want a custom, exact fit for a single book, a fitted cover is the better option.

SIZING INFO
Adjustable Covers, to choose the correct size, measure the height (spine) of your book and match it to the corresponding size option in the customizer. The height must match, while the width adjusts to accommodate different page counts.
For example, a book with a spine height of 9.5" will fit our 9.5" (24.1 cm) adjustable book cover. One cover can fit books of the same height across a wide range of thicknesses.
Fitted Covers are made to match one specific book. For these, we require three measurements:
- Book height
- Book width (front cover)
- Spine thickness
All measurements should be provided to the closest 1/8" to ensure an accurate fit.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wood Care: To care for the wood, apply a light coat of food-safe cutting board oil as needed. Avoid getting oil on the leather, as it may darken or soften the surface.
Because our covers are made from real, solid wood, they naturally respond to their environment. While each piece is sealed for protection, wood can still react to extreme temperature or humidity changes.
Leather: Condition the leather periodically using our recommended leather balm to keep it supple and protected.
Storage: When not in use, store your cover in the included velvet bag to protect it from dust, light, and friction. Avoid leaving your cover in places with rapid temperature changes, e.x. the car during day then overnight. Keep away from prolonged heat, cold, or moisture
If the wood ever shows slight movement or cupping due to environmental changes, this is normal for natural materials and is often temporary. Allowing the cover to rest flat with even weight in a stable environment will typically help it return to shape.

STEP ONE
Design & File Preparation
Each cover begins with careful design preparation. We adjust an existing template to your selected size or create a new one for fitted covers, then thoughtfully add your personalization details—such as names or dates—ensuring balanced layouts and clean engraving before anything moves to production.
STEP TWO
Wood Selection, Storage & Laser Engraving
Your chosen wood is pulled from our environmentally controlled storage to maintain stability and quality. Each piece is engraved and cut individually.
STEP THREE
Wood Sanding, Sealing & Resting
Once engraved, the wood follows a timed, multi-stage process of sanding, sealing, resting, and sanding again. Overnight, the pieces are placed in a press to help them settle properly, creating a smooth, durable surface that will age beautifully over time.
STEP FOUR
Leather Engraving & Conditioning
While the wood rests, premium leather hides in your chosen color are engraved—a process that can take several hours. Once complete, the leather is carefully cleaned, then conditioned and treated with balm to restore softness and depth.
STEP FIVE
Hardware, Bookmarks & Charm Work
As leather engraving continues, hardware is selected and prepared. Bookmarks are assembled by hand.
STEP SIX
Hand Stitching & Assembly
Often while listening to a favorite audiobook, we hand stitch the flaps and adjustable band for strength and longevity. The leather is then adhered to the wood, and the cover is riveted together, attaching the bookmark during this stage.
STEP SEVEN
Final Details, Inspection & Packing
The cover size is engraved onto the rivet for ease of use, and every piece is carefully inspected for quality, feel, and finish before being thoughtfully packed in our in-house sewn suede bags and prepared for shipment.
